Experienced Civil Engineer

CLC Engineering, LLC is an engineering firm, located in Alexandria, LA, specializing in civil/structural engineering for high voltage structures in substations and switchyards.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design of substation structures, foundations, civil grading of substation sites

  • Meet submission & fabrication schedules

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering

  • 3 Years or more of credible experience

  • Knowledge of shallow and deep foundation calculations and theory

  • Preferred experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Mathcad, STAAD Pro, LPile, and RISA Foot.

  • Experience preparing and reviewing stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) preferred

  • Site layout, grading, drainage, erosion, and sediment control experience preferred

  • Knowledge of preparing calculations

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc.

  • Must have excellent skills in the following areas: documentation, organization, communication, and problem-solving

  • Must be able to multi-task and manage workload with minimal supervision

  • Must have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, schedule-driven department

Candidates will need a solid understanding of drafting techniques and of engineering terminology in order to provide support to Engineers by preparing routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, and diagrams.

We are looking for a Civil Engineer Technician to join our team! Current December  & May graduates are encouraged to apply!

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Candidate must be capable of effective communication, working in a team-oriented manner with strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Communicate Effectively with co-workers, vendors, clients, etc.

  • The Civil Engineering Technician will perform engineering and design duties for transmission line or substation design, foundation design, and civil grading of substation sites which require application of engineering principles

  • Learn and properly use the document management system

  • Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.

  • Knowledge of steel and concrete design

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to be both creative and analytical, extremely detail-oriented and accurate.

  • Desire to gain knowledge and develop skills to improve your work performance

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
